- 5th of January: La Cabalgata de Los Reyes Magos (Festival/Event); the Cabalgata los Reyes Magos, or Twelfth Night procession, is a popular cultural tradition in Spain and Latin America. Barcelona chooses to celebrate the event at sea and crowds gather at the harbour steps of the Moll de Fusta to witness the glorious arrival of the three Wise Men.
- 16th - 18th of January: Bread & Butter Barcelona (Fair); Bread & Butter Barcelona responds to the diversity of both cultures and markets and thereby respects the differentiation of these market.
- 17th of January: St. Anthony procession (Festival); the Cabalgata dels Tres Tombs is Barcelona's celebration of St Anthony's Day (17th of January). Processions and blessings of animals take place throughout the city. The largest is in Sant Andreu and the second-largest in the Eixample.
- 31st of January - 16th of February: Carnival in Barcelona (Festival); Carnival in Barcelona epitomises some of the more gluttonous aspects of traditional celebration. The time before the Lenten fast is spent indulging in the very best of soon-to-be-forbidden pleasures, and for Barcelonans this means a gargantuan feast dedicated to anything particularly fatty.

- 12th - 19th of March: Las Fallas (Festival); valencian families make paper mache dolls - sometimes in the shape of traditional figures, sometimes in the shape of famous people like Shrek or George W. Bush. The creations are paraded before being burnt in one of the many bonfires. This takes place amid much partying! You haven’t seen bonfires until you’ve seen the ones the Valencians light on the last night of Las Fallas.

- 25th of December: Navidad (Festival); on Christmas Eve, as night falls oil lamps are lit in every house. Soon enough, the streets are filled with dancers and people all enjoying the festive celebration. All the little children fill their shoes with barley and straw, hoping that camel that carry riders will come and eat it, replacing the barley with presents. Spaniards honor the cow around Christmas because it is said that after Mary gave birth to Jesus, the cow in the stable breathed on Jesus to keep him warm. Most homes have a manger and about a week before Christmas, the family which withholds the manger gathers around it and sings while children dance and play the tambourine. On Christmas, Spaniards go to church and exchange gifts. They also swing on swing sets because they believe that the higher they swing, the higher they encourage the sun to go. Christmas is the day Jesus was born on, according to the Catholic Church. We must honor Jesus and his holy family.
